So far, the casualty rate in Iraq is:

15 British (all killed in helicopter accidents)
6 Americans (four in helicopter crash, two in "combat")
250 Iraqis - most of them women and children...

Makes you think, don't it?

Subject:God, my life is boring...
Time:8:46 pm.
Mood: okay.
The computer has been moved to new house and the phone's on, obviously, as if it wasn't I would not be able to get on the Internet. Miraculously, it's been quite cool this couple of days, so need of luffly AC has been limited. Yey, I think.

I have decided to definitely get a new journal for the new year, but I have no clue for a username. Ideas, anybody?

Part of the reason I'm getting a new LJ is because I don't like the username for this one. Yes, I know I'm fickle. Shut up. Heh. But when I do get a new one I'll have to keep it for a whole year and maybe longer, since am sick of getting new LJ every five minutes. Blah.

Today father and I went to Scitech, this science fair type thing. I got a poster with the Periodic Table of Elements on from the shop, a couple of bouncie balls for my cat, and a 4-D puzzle of a horse. Unfortunately, a bit of its head is missing, so the thing is currently headless. Blah.

I'm bored.

That is all.

Have moved to new house, but the computer is at father's house, where we were living, so we are over there right now and I carpe diem'ed and got on the Internet. The AC at new house is v. cool and v. nice and I am v. happy. Ha. Unfortunately we have no food, but necessary sacrifices, eh? Also, am probably going to get a new LJ for the new year. Will let people know what it is when and if I get it. Anyway, toodle pip for now.

I didn't get to sleep until 4am, thus I slept in, thus I missed going to see TTT with my uncle.

To top things off, have to move many heavy boxes to new house.

Am too tired to do this.

But, on the bright side...

McKellen Heads to Hogwarts

British acting knight Sir Ian McKellen will replace the late Richard Harris as Professor Albus Dumbledore in the third Harry Potter movie. The 63-year-old star, who also plays wizard Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, is set to appear in the third installments of both rival films - after signing to take on the role of the Hogwarts headmaster in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban. McKellen takes over the role from Harris - who died of cancer in October. Movie bosses had hoped to cast Harris in the new film - which is due to begin filming in February - by using computer animation and film footage. But they found they did not have the required film available. Fellow Brit Christopher Lee - another Lord Of The Rings star - was among those tipped to replace Harris. A source on the Warner Bros movie set says, "Everyone has been sworn to secrecy about Ian McKellen getting the role of Dumbledore. One of the production staff let it slip and now it is spreading like wild fire. He got the part just before Christmas but Warner's won't announce it until the New Year. Bosses thought he was the perfect replacement for Harris and, as we all know, he is capable of playing the part of a wizard. They are not worried about people getting The Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter confused. They are two very different films."

Thank you, norseblue, for linking to that!

Now, I am obviously not happy about Richard Harris dying, but I knew, I absolutely *knew* that Ian McKellen was going to play Dumbledore. It was just common sense. I think it's great - to tell the truth, in the beginning I *wanted* Ian to play Dumbledore. He was the way I envisioned Dumbledore - kinda Gandalf-y, actually, except more batty. Hee. Anyway, this is good, at least they are not going to flag down young whippersnapper type actor.

Have to go put stuff in boxes now. Blargh.

Also, since the computer is being moved today also and the phone doesn't get turned on for a bit, probably will not be online for a day or so. I'll see all you later!

Someone from SomeoneLikesYou.com likes me.

This someone is between 28 and 32 years old, and has brown hair.

Hmm. I can think of one person who matches this criteria, but this person is a fictional character. Is this some sort of joke? If so, I demand the culprit reveal himself/herself now, because...well, just because! *glares at luvsrimmer* Is it you? I bet it is! Or maybe it's norseblue, or even laurengreanleaf. Maybe even tronella? Maybe it's one of my friends from Yahoo! Chat RP. But I think it might be one of you. Hmm.

On other notes, today mother and I moved a few miscellaneous items to the new house. We also saw Moira, whom is going back to Bali tomorrow. She's quite nice, I like her. I'm also quite fond of her son, too...pity he's 7 years older than me. Er. I'm very tired...and very disturbed due to the SomeoneLikesYou.com fiasco, but am suspecting this is just a joke, so shall not fly off the handle. Haha. =)

Am going to scuttle off. Tomorrow me and uncle probably go to see TTT. Squee! Cannot wait to see hot Legolas Gollum and Helm's Deep and hot Aragorn Ents and so on. Yes. *hops off excitedly*

Subject:The Requisite Christmas Loot List
Time:1:51 pm.
What I got for Christmas...even though I actually went out and bought most of it, I thought I ought to list all of it here since everyone is doing it as well.

Blue Motorola mobile phone
Leather case for above phone
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (all the books apart from Mostly Harmless in one big book)
Eric Idle's Road to Mars
Lord of the Rings: The Making of the Movie Trilogy (300 pages of glossy colour, oh yes.)
The new Nirvana CD, with all the classics on and some remastered
The Tomb Raider soundtrack
Elvis, A Little Less Conversation remix single
Marilyn Manson, Antichrist Superstar t-shirt
Red Dwarf 'Smeg!' t-shirt
A small cactus what I have named Bob
A bottle of moisturizing body lotion
25 dollars worth of gift vouchers for K-mart
20 dollar gift voucher for Myers (department store)

And that's about it. Although it isn't much compared to what some other people got, but when you consider that each item cost about 20 bucks or upwards, you've got yourself a good score. Myself, I'm very pleased with the phone, as many people know. *pets it* My Preciousssss....

Anyway, today we're moving boxes to the new house. We're moving soon. It has air conditioning. Woo! Also, we're going to go see Moira, one of Mum's best friends, and her son Joshua, whom I am very fond of. No, it's not just because he's cute. Eeheheh. I am actually wearing a skirt today because it's so hot. Don't worry, it's a long skirt, it doesn't reveal too much of my ghastly pale legs.

I'm hungry. *skitters off to get food*

Subject:The Theory of Relativity (It's a theory, right? A theory you only tell your relatives.)
Time:7:35 pm.
Mood: okay.

Got up at about 4am and puttered around on the computer for an hour or two. Opened presents, and played Nirvana CD repeatedly until felt v. mellow. Then I went and had a shower, woke up mother, got dressed in spanking new Red Dwarf 'Smeg!" T-shirt. We went over to Adele (my father's girlfriend)'s place and I recieved a small bottle of skin moisturiser (am I really that flaky looking?) and a 20 dollar gift thingy for Myer (a department store). THEN mum dropped me over at Granny's for the Annual Christmas Dinner With Family, Only Most Of The Family Wasn't There. I saw my aunt Robin, who two years ago had chemotherapy for her cancer. She's now completely recovered and very healthy. She gave me a 25 dollar certificate for K-mart. So, we had dinner (lunch, actually) and we watched most of Harry Potter, and then I went home.

Dear Eru, that is one big paragraph...

This has, without a doubt, been the best Christmas for two years. For a start, I got presents. And I saw The Relatives, who aren't that bad really, when you consider most of them have gone insane and come out the other side relatively okay. I wish my cat would stop jumping on my CD player. My back hurts and I'm very tired. My mobile phone is being strange - although it's been charged since last night it still won't turn on. If it doesn't work tomorrow, mother will call tech support people and bitch them out. I do hope there's nothing terribly wrong with the thing, as have been looking forward to getting mobile phone that works.

Eeeee!!! TTT ad on radio. *squeals* Oh yes! I am possibly going to go see it on Saturday with my uncle Rex. Am so happy! Hopefully uncle will pay for ticket, as have no money. Ah well. I think I'll go and pass out now, or possibly read Nightwatch.

Hahaha. Because I am v. impatient, have opened the mobile phone present. It is currently charging up, after which my mother will register me with the mobile phone registration people. I am frankly amazed at the smallness of it (the phone, that is). It can fit into the palm of my hand. Tis cute, we likeses it. It is our preciousssss, and we wantsssss it. *morphs into Gollum, stroking mobile phone gently* Precioussss....hee...

TTT is now two sleeps away. Am not sure why I care, since will not be seeing it on opening day. I'll probably go sometime in January, when the crowds have thinned. (I hate crowds.) Hell, the first time I saw FotR was in March. Not sure I can wait that long now though.

Just got back from shopping with male parental unit. And may I just say...

Yes, I know, big deal right? But not fer me. I have been waiting not so patiently for two years to get a mobile phone (cellphone to you American people) and now I finally have one! Or will have one, once Christmas rolls around, anyway.

List of things Puuuur-chased by moi and the Male Parental Unit:

Red Dwarf 'Smeg' T-Shirt, Small (YAY!!! God, I love you, ABC shop.)
The Complete Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a Trilogy in Four Parts
Eric Idle's Road to Mars book
Mobile phone!!!
Leather mobile phone case
Orange mini-chair to put mobile phone on
Tomb Raider soundtrack
Elvis remix single
Christmas cards (which I will send tomorrow)

I know some people may find the idea of knowing what you're getting for Christmas rather silly, I don't. Besides, most of this is Christmas presents from me to me, bought with other people's money. Yes, I am a selfish biatch, why do you ask? Anyway, I am sooo glad I have a mobile phone. Beware, all who also have one, for I shall....SMS you! AHHAHAHAHAHAHH!!!

Okay, I'm going to go have an icy cold shower now. It's 36 degrees Celsius outside and 50 inside. Bleh.

I don't get the attraction to Severus Snape, really. His nose is too big, his hair is too greasy, and he always looks at Potter as if he just realized he's left the iron on, or maybe that look's somewhere along the lines of "Who are you again?" Myself, I go for men like the yummy!Chris Barrie, or slutty!Orlando Bloom. Both of these were complete dorks when they were younger, too. Maybe I just like dorks. Hmm.

Um, so, yes. I just needed to get that out of the way.

Me and father are going to walk down to the river and have coffee. Or in my case, chocolate milk or something. I've never liked coffee for some reason. Anyway, am not looking forward to this as father is a complete and utter bore. He talks about politics, for crying out loud! Politics! I hate politics! *dies from overuse of italics* Gah. Oh well, I'll just fake being dead or something.

Hmm. I had a peculiar dream in which I was smoking a cigarette. Can't remember any more of the dream, however I think I was in a closet on the Starship Voyager...very odd place to be smoking a cig, if you ask me. And how come you never see anyone smoking on Star Trek? Are cigarettes illegal or something? I mean, you see them at it on the holodeck but never just casually...not that I can remember, anyway. Any thoughts on this, people?

My finger is completely healed now. (If you'll remember, I cut it with a razor some days back.) Unfortunately, since I have gotten so used to typing with other fingers, my forefinger is now quite weak and it's almost impossible to type with it. I guess I'll just have to retrain myself to use it. Bleh.

The latest Nirvana CD.

All of which are wrapped and unter the tree at present. Am beginning to feel not-so-deprived after all. Haha.

Okay, so I know I said we were going to go food shopping, but instead we went to this bigass mall (and by bigass, I mean BIG ASS, as in ARSE, as in HUGE) and wandered around for a bit. Books taken out from library: 3. Amount of chocolate eaten: 0. Boredom: off the scale.

Heh. As anyone who's read it can guess, I have been reading Bridget Jones's Diary. It is an excellent book, v. g. Haha. I've almost finish it and plan to once I get up in the morning (it's almost midnight and I plan to go to bed pretty soon. Bleh.) I also got my Buffy tape, the LotR: FotR Visual Guide (Boromir has a diff outfit in it...looks v. yummy) and Terry Pratchett's Hogfather, which I have already read but plan on doing so again, obviously.

I'm going to see if they have the vid of Bridget Jones's Diary, since the book is so fecking awesome.

Hmmm...TTT comes out on Boxing Day here. I'm not going to go to the opening, as all the tickets will be undoubtedly sold. I'll probably go see it sometime in January - I can wait. I think. (Oh, God, how am I gonna survive?) Blargh. I might go see HP: CoS for Christmas, though. Dunno.

I'm probably gonna spend most of Christmas day with my grandmother, aunt and uncles. It'll be nice seeing Robin (my aunt) again. She had chemotherapy for her breast cancer two years ago. She was (and still is) my fave aunt - she's a real computer geek, too. Mwahaha, will get her email addy off her when I see her.

I never realized how much I missed my family. Two years is a long time to be away, even though, admittedly, most of the family are gits. Excluding Robin, Granny, and Rex (my uncle). I did miss them even so, I really did. I was so afraid that my Granny was going to die while I was still stuck in America, but Granny's a tough old bird. She hadn't changed a single bit when we came back.

Our dog, Sally, had to be put down on Sept. 11th (this year). She was a little white bichon frise/maltese cross, the most gorgeous thing you ever saw. I really miss her, too. She was a great little dog.

Well, that just proves that Sept. 11th will have some sort of special significance for me, even if I don't give a damn about the World Trade Center. (Go ahead, Americans, flame me all you want. I don't care.)

Jeez, this entry is turning out a bit longer than I anticipated...

Erm, so I'm going to go to bed now.

Just woke up about an hour and a half ago, and am, predictably, online.

We're going to move into a house with air conditioning in between Christmas and New Year. (Air conditioning! Yes!) I can't wait to get out of here - we share a house with my father, you see, and most of the time he is an insufferable bald git. Luckily, I am nothing like him. In the respect that I am not bald. So...that is good.

What is not good is it being that 'time of the month'. Ugh. And those spiders in the bathroom. Yuck.

Another good thing: the Buffy tape I ordered from the library has arrived, along with a Terry Pratchett book and the Visual Guide to LotR: FotR. The package from America containing my Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within vid, Tomb Raider vid, my copies of the Silmarillion and The Hobbit came today. ^_^ Now I have my copy of the Silm, I just might read it. Even though when I tried to read it the first time I fell asleep. Heh.

I went to have a shower in our part of the house's bathroom (the house is seperated into two sections) and just as I was rinsing my hair I saw these two bigass black spiders! I didn't scream, though. I pride myself on that, considering I used to be deathly afraid of even the smallest spider. Instead of screaming, I yelled "HOLY FUCK!", grabbed my clothes and ran whimpering through the house to the other bathroom, where I finished bathing in a gibbering mess. I wasn't scared at all, nope, not me.

I woke up about half an hour ago, heh. Considering I went to sleep at 12 last night you can't blame me, ne? I usually need about 10 hours sleep.

My cat is so spoiled. He's eating fish. Fish in guacamole sauce.

On another note, my finger is almost healed. Happy happy joy joy. I still can't type with it, though - it stings a little. My God, I'm such a clutz. I still can't believe how I got it cut in the first place. *mutters*

I'm bored out of my skull, which I feel like bashing against the wall several times until my brain is dislodged from the inside and leaks out my ears. It already feels like it's doing that, actually...

I started reading a book by Douglas Adams - Dirk Gently's Holistic Detection Agency. It's quite funny so far. (I like the bit about the horse.) I'm about 20 or 30 pages in, I think, I'm not sure - I think I'm a bit of a slow reader - compared to my mum anyway - but other people claim I'm pretty fast, compared to them, anyway. Maybe in an hour or two if I stick to the book I'll finish it, but tonight I'm too tired to pay a whole lot of attention to anything.

I've come to the conclusion that I quite like Justin Timberlake, if only because the guy has some nice moves in his dance sequences. Sure, I know his choreographer probably worked out the moves, but he does it pretty well. *winces as J-boy hits a high note* Aside from the fact his voice hasn't broken yet, he's quite a bit decent. *cringe* but DAMN, he must have done...uh...something painful to hit that note.

Omg! My mum told me Kylie Minogue was about 4'11, but I just looked her up on IMDB and she's 5'1! No wonder she was wearing pointy heels with cargo pants, she's damned short. Hell, I'm taller than her, and I'm younger than her! (Why do I keep typing 'Kylie Minoque' instead of 'Kylie Minogue'? Guh.)

I'm very tired and sore. If I turn my head to the left it hurts. Oh, the pain...

As I told luvsrimmer, I have read spoilers for Star Trek: Nemesis. I am sad.

Just saw a Kylie Minogue music video - Love at First Sight, I do believe. (The song, I mean.) Now, I liked the video and her actual clothes, but ... wearing pointy yellow heels with cargo-pants? Big no-no, kid. Even *I* know that, and I tend to wander around in sparkly blue pajamas with stars on and a camoflage army shirt.

My neck hurts. I slept on it funny, methinks. Also my finger hurts too, but I don't have too much trouble typing with my other fingers now. I still can't write a whole lot though because it's annoying having to keep my forefinger out of the way. Luckily, though, it's not dripping pus on the keyboard...(have I grossed out people enough yet?) Gah, I want a Strawberry Bacardi Breezer...

Nothing is happening today. I think I shall go now.

In a conversation withluvsrimmer, the following came up (I had just shown her a pic I made of my new OC):

Luvs Rimmer: Love the boots, hate the pants, the tie's a bit Avril
Lumira Lune: LISTER's tie is Avril.
Luvs Rimmer: LOL
Lumira Lune: Seriously, though
Lumira Lune: Lister's tie IS avril
Lumira Lune: Avril stole the tie look off him
Luvs Rimmer: I doubt Avril even knows about Red Dwarf, she's too busy chasing skater boys

I am gonna go now because my mother is whinging and also there is this thing called sleep I need to catch up on. *screams as she she bangs her finger* OWOWOWOW *dies* Argh! I hate wounding myself. Hatehatehate. -__- I'm allergic to pain, I swear! Gah, my mother is throwing a wobbly. She's such a @#*%ing child sometimes. *mutters and complains about control-freak parents*

I should go now before I end up smashing my damned keyboard against the wall.

LMFAO! My mum just found my Britney Spears Barbie!

*laughs evilly, thinking of hot ovens...*
